HTC Hero, powered by Google’s Android operating system is facing problems in synchronizing with Windows 7, both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. The main problem in HTC Hero and Windows 7 synchronization might because of the HTC Hero driver is not properly installed in Windows 7 systems. However, we can fix this problem and make HTC Hero work with Windows 7. Follow the below steps to sync HTC Hero with Windows 7 systems.

  1. Download the HTC Hero Sync tool (HTCsync.zip) from here
  2. Install the HTCSync tool on your system
  3. Download HTC Hero driver packages here for >> 32-bit systems | 64-bit systems
  4. Extract the driver files into the appropriate folders
  5. For 32-bit systems : %SystemDrive%:\Program Files\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Vista_x86

    For 64-bit systems : %SystemDrive%:\Program Files\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Vista_x64

  6. Update the driver (accessible from Properties >> Hardware tab) for incorrectly installed Android Phone from the Devices and Printers menu in Windows’ Start Menu, by selecting the copied driver location. If no ADB driver been installed yet, just install the driver directly by right click on the .INF file and select Install
  7. Now your HTC Hero phone should be displayed as My HTC in Windows 7 and you can start accessing it
  8. You are done.
